about

In early June 2012, Yes Nice announced their upcoming second album and their first released single, “Hot River.” Today, the album, set to for release on August 6th, 2013, officially has a title: Warm Gun. After major success with the last album, 2009’s Blindfolded, fans are likely excited to see how their latest work will compare. Recorded in their North Edmonton home studio, Scott McKellar and Nathaniel Wong have expanded on the sound of their first album, incorporating live and electronic instruments both in the studio and on stage. The album features more vocal led tracks this time, enlisting the help of the enigmatic Jillian McKellar, Darren Frank and Erin Wong for vocal collaborations. Their drummer Peter Hendrickson is also heavily featured especially in the left turn title track that unleashes an experimental drum solo through a sea of echo pedals.
